Statement of faith.

1. The Bible

We hold that the Bible is God’s inspired and infallible Word given to mankind. It was penned by human writers under the direct supernatural direction of the Holy Spirit. It stands as the ultimate authority for Christian doctrine and everyday life. Since it comes from God, it is completely truthful and contains no errors of any kind, whether historical, scientific, or otherwise. (1 Timothy 1:13 and 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 1 Corinthians 2:13; Psalms 119:105; Proverbs 30:5)

2. God

We believe that God is the Creator and Sovereign Ruler of the universe. He eternally exists in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are fully equal and together are one God. (Genesis 1:1, 26, 27 and 3:22; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

3. Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. He took on human flesh, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and lived a perfectly sinless life as God incarnate. He voluntarily gave Himself as the flawless sacrifice for the sins of all humanity by dying on the cross, and He bodily rose from the grave on the third day, proving His victory over sin, hell, Satan, and death. Jesus ascended into heaven, is now seated at the right hand of God, and will one day return visibly to earth to reign as King. (Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5,14; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Isaiah 7:14, 9:6)

4. Human Beings/Sin Nature

We believe that people are created in God’s spiritual image, designed to reflect His character and nature. Humanity is the crowning achievement of God’s creation. Every individual possesses inherent dignity, purpose, and immense potential for good; yet every person is damaged by an attitude and actions of rebellion against God—known as sin. This sin creates separation from God. Because of total depravity, human nature is inherently self-focused and inclined toward evil rather than good, a condition that persists until a person is born again through faith in Jesus Christ. (Genesis 1:27; Psalms 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23)

5. Salvation

We believe salvation is God’s gracious gift offered freely to all, yet each person must personally receive it. No amount of self-improvement or good deeds can erase our sin. Only by placing faith in Jesus Christ as God’s provision for forgiveness can anyone be rescued from sin’s penalty—eternal death, hell, and separation from God. When we repent of living for ourselves and trust in Jesus alone, we are saved. Eternal life begins the instant someone accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior by grace through faith, and continues as that faith endures. (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6 and 1:2; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1, 10:9-10)

6. Baptism in the Holy Spirit

We believe that the moment a person places faith in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell within that believer. We also believe that being filled with the Holy Spirit is an ongoing, progressive experience throughout the Christian life, producing the fruit of the Spirit as we grow in grace. This baptism in the Holy Spirit is available to every believer who sincerely asks God for it. (Acts 2:1-4, 8:14-17 and 10:44-46; Galatians 3:14-15)

7. The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

We believe Scripture describes numerous gifts of the Holy Spirit that believers should earnestly seek and exercise regularly. We desire to see these gifts actively operating among the members of Christ’s Body, the church. All the spiritual gifts given to the first-century church remain available and active today, distributed by God to individual believers as He chooses. (1 Corinthians 12)

8. Physical Healing in Jesus Christ

We believe that Christ’s atoning death on the cross made provision for the healing of our physical bodies. God’s miraculous healing power is freely available today when we pray with faith. (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; James 5:14-16)

9. Communion

We be in Communion, also called the Lord’s Supper. Jesus established this practice so we would continually remember His sacrificial death and triumphant resurrection. (1 Corinthians 11:28-32)

10. Water Baptism

We belive in baptism by full immersion in water. Baptism does not contribute to salvation; it is an act of obedience to Christ’s command and an outward testimony following His example. (Matthew 3:13-17, 28:19; Acts 2:34-36, 19:1-6)
